Mostly made of iron and glass, with a classic or innovative stylistic design, the canopy can be ‘cantilevered’, i.e. leaning against a building – typically above the entrance –, or free-standing, supported by pillars or columns, to accommodate and (at the same time) shelter people in areas of passage or short stay. Besides being very useful, these structures adorn outdoor spaces, making the building unique (and prestigious), in harmony with its surroundings and the other architectural elements.
